James Gilleylen – CEO and Principal Planner

James Gilleylen has worked as a professional planner and in executive management for more than 30 years in both the public and private sector, including having served as a Director for the Department of Housing and Neighborhood Services and Assistant Director of Planning and Development for the City of Dallas. He also served as Deputy Director of the Office of Planning for the City of Washington, D.C.

Mr. Gilleylen currently serves as Chief Executive Officer and Principal Planner for JQUAD. He has led revitalization planning, housing, and economic development efforts for over 46 city, county, regional, and state agencies as well as policy initiatives at the national level including multiple consulting engagements with the U.S. Department of HUD, and the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Gilleylen has a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration and a Master of Science degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Mississippi.
